Solar Powered 3D printed Vertical Hydroponics at Savior Lutheran School
Growing Green designed and installed a solar-powered, 3D-printed vertical hydroponics system at Our Savior Lutheran School in Peridot, bringing hands-on sustainability education to 3rd–5th grade students. After developing the system and curriculum and piloting it with teachers, our team led workshops where students assembled the system and learned how it uses solar energy and up to 90% less water than traditional soil-based agriculture. This project was especially meaningful on the San Carlos Reservation, where water scarcity is a real challenge. By engaging students directly in building and learning, we aimed to show how hydroponics can grow food efficiently with minimal water in their own community.
